The Wonder Women Issue

Wonder Women are everywhere. Not all of them sit behind mahogany desks in large offices with even bigger titles like CEO and PhD. Not all of them save lives on operating tables. And not all of them run for office. While not all Wonder Women wear capes and possess superhuman qualities, strength and courage are wonders of everyday women too. Heroes and icons are all around us. And I plan to inspire my little girl with stories of the amazing women I’ve interviewed for skirt!. I’ll tell her superheroic stories about Tonya, the Riverkeeper, and a tale of sisterhood about Women on Paper. I’ll teach her about politics with a story about Deke’s executive assistant, and about making a difference with Queenie, who founded the Miracle Mile Walk. And one day, when my little Wonder Woman grows up, I hope she’ll be compassionate, strong and courageous like all of you.
