Queenie Jones Glover, RN, Aiken, SC.

I am most proud of: Having started the Miracle Mile Walk and the impact it’s had on raising awareness of breast cancer and the number of free mammograms it provides for with proceeds.

My work: Retired. Before February, I worked in HR for Covidien.

Words I live by: The Serenity Prayer.

What keeps me awake at night: I don’t lose sleep over anything!

Right now I’m reading: The Audacity of Hope.

The one item that has changed my life: Having a close relationship with God.

If I had a vanity plate on my car, it would say: My current plate reads “Crown,” for what the Queen wears!

The food I could eat every day: Seafood.

My best friend says I am:  Too trusting.

I still can’t get the hang of: How to use all the features on my cell phone.

I wish I’d known: How to be assertive.

Something most people don’t know about me: I’m not as strong as I appear.  I’m supersensitive and cry when I’m happy and when I’m sad.

My mother always said: “Good manners will take you further than a dollar.”

The smartest woman I know: Dee Crawford.

What are you most vain about? How I look. I put makeup on first thing every morning, before leaving the bathroom.

Always... Be dependable.

Never... Give up.

I wish… Something that I’ve done will make a difference in someone’s life.
